Why Plainsman? Naming a boat can be a challenge. Do you choose one that is a play on words? Nauti Dreams, Ship Happens, Seas The Day, Baycation, Aquaholic. Or is it a traditional name like Cheryl Ann, Northern Star, Martha Lewis, Rebecca T Ruark? (BTW Those are traditional skipjack names.) Not only do you expose yourself to scrutiny by your fellow boaters but think about that mayday call. Do want everyone to respond to distress on Just Plain Nasty? (True story...we did respond to their call.) Personally I prefer a more traditional name. It just seems right for for a vessel that you put your trust to get you safely through a day on the water. Let's be honest, the water can can be very challenging. Depending on your boat to get you thorough rough waters just doesn't seem right on a boat named Trusted Seamen. Right?
